Happy 9th Birthday with the Green Lantern

Happy Birthday to Two special little boys that are turning 9 years old. This cake was done for a friend's son that I went to middle school with.  Enjoy.  The cake is Vanilla with Vanilla Butter cream, cut in the shape of the Green Lantern's symbol, with a custom edible image.  The edible image was purchased at Lorna's Cake & Candy Supply in Allen Park, MI, those ladies are the greatest.  Anyway the idea for the cake came from a combination of two cakes that I Google.

Cool pictures I was able to find three pictures that went well together.

Green Lantern's oath:
In brightest day, in blackest night,
No evil shall escape my sight
Let those who worship evil's might,
Beware my power... Green Lantern's light!

I took a 1/2 sheet of cake and cut it into the shape.  Was not as easy as it looks.

Photo time

This cake was special to me because it was for a good friend that is family. This cake was for Jason Milliner and is now bride Alexandria Milliner.  I am soooo happy for them.  Well the groom's cake is inspired by the fact that Jason always have a camera in his hand. So it would be fitting that his groom's cake be a Canon camera. Cake:  Carrot cake with butter cream and black vanilla fondant.

Music; piano keys in E minor

Well this cake was for a co-work's brother 50th birthday.  He is a jazz musician.  So I did a 12" round single lever cake and a double lever 9" round cake.  I put the black keys on the 12" round cake and put pictures of different instruments round the 9" cake.  On top of the 9" cake I made chocolate music notes and a sign that has 50 on it in red candy melt.  It was fun doing this cake and easy.

For the last couple of weeks I have been busy making cakes and loving every minute of it.  Keep ordering cakes.

Oh yea the birthday person name is Elbert, get it Piano Keys in E (lbert) minor.

Butterflies

Hey Cake people I know that it has been a while.  Well I am here today to give you some butterflies.

This is a 2 tier cake in a butterflies storm.  The top tier is a lemon cake with lemon icing.  Bottom tier is a pineapple upside down cake with pineapple icing.  I use my Cricut Mini Machine to cut out the butterflies and the letters.  First time use it, will say that it was fun.
